Our Process

How We Make It

Every HideOrax product goes through the same hands-on process — from hide selection to final inspection. No shortcuts. No machine substitutes where hand work is needed.

From Raw Hide to Finished Product

01

Hide Selection

We source only full-grain cowhide from trusted tanneries in Pakistan. Every hide is inspected by hand before cutting begins — checking thickness, grain quality and any natural defects. Substandard hides are rejected at this stage. This single step determines the quality of everything that follows.

02

Pattern Cutting

Each product is cut using hand-made patterns developed over years of refinement. We do not use laser cutting or die presses for our main pieces — hand cutting allows the craftsman to work around natural variations in the hide and place each piece where the leather is strongest.

03

Edge Finishing

Before any stitching begins every cut edge is bevelled, burnished and sealed by hand. This step is skipped by most low-cost manufacturers. At HideOrax it is non-negotiable — a properly finished edge is what separates a product that lasts 2 years from one that lasts 20.

04

Hand Stitching

All structural stitching is done by hand using a saddle stitch — two needles, one thread, passed through each hole from opposite sides. Unlike machine stitching, a saddle stitch cannot unravel. If one stitch breaks the rest hold. This is the oldest and strongest leather stitch in the world and it is used on every HideOrax product.

05

Hardware Fitting

Brass buckles, rivets and D-rings are fitted and set by hand. Each rivet is hammered and checked individually. We do not use staples or adhesive as primary fixings on any load-bearing point. Every hardware fitting is tested for pull strength before the product moves to final inspection.

06

Final Inspection

Every finished product is inspected against a checklist before packaging. Stitching tension, hardware security, edge finish, dimensions and overall appearance are all checked. Products that do not pass are returned for correction — not shipped. We would rather delay an order than ship something we are not proud of.

We Always Make a Sample First

For every new buyer and every new product we make a sample before bulk production begins. You see exactly what you are getting before a single bulk piece is cut. If anything needs adjusting — dimensions, hardware, finish — we correct it on the sample. Bulk production only starts when you are fully satisfied. This is not standard practice in our industry. We do it anyway because we believe it is the right way to do business.

Sample Lead Time

5—7 working days for most products

Sample Cost

Sample cost is discussed at quote stage and credited against bulk order

Approval Process

You approve by email or WhatsApp before we begin production

Our Quality Promise

We are a small manufacturer — not a factory running thousands of units per day. That is our advantage. Every product that leaves our workshop has been touched, checked and approved by an experienced craftsman.

We do not subcontract. We do not rush orders to meet a deadline at the cost of quality. When you receive a HideOrax product it will be exactly what was agreed — or we will make it right.
